Client portal · Operations · Sovereign · Ownership
The shared drive is not a workspace. It is a pile. The latest SOW is in email. The invoice is in Stripe’s customer portal, which the client never bookmarked. The files are in a folder named “FINAL_v7.” Everyone spends Tuesday looking for Tuesday.
SINLE Technologies LLC built a client portal because we needed one. Clients see the same scopes, invoices and files the studio keeps. You can click a live demo. That is the product shape. If your company still runs the same mess for your own customers, the job is the same: one login, records you own, not another SaaS with a cute empty state.
What a portal is for
Status. Documents. Money. Access. If a screen does not hold one of those, it is decoration. Dashboards that chart nothing you trust are decoration.
A customer should open it because that is where the job lives — not because you sent a “please log in” campaign.
What it is not
It is not Slack with a skin. It is not a file browser with your logo. It is not a chatbot that guesses whether an invoice is paid. Paid is a row in a system of record.
- If you cannot leave with the data, you rented a drive with extra steps.
- If only the agency can add a user, you do not own the relationship.
- If the truth still lives in a sheet, the portal is a brochure.
How we scope it
Written SOW. Typically a Sovereign job, sometimes hours on Relay after the first version is live. You hold admin. We do not hold the customers hostage on our domain.
The steps — do these in order
- 01
Name the records that already exist
Scopes, invoices, files, status. If it is not a record, it does not belong in the portal.
- 02
Decide who logs in
Client, studio, maybe a contractor. Roles before screens.
- 03
Keep the sheet as an export
The portal is the system. The spreadsheet is a download, not the office.
- 04
Write the job in the SOW
Hours back. What you stop emailing. What happens if you turn the portal off.
- 05
You hold admin
Domain, login, Stripe if money moves. We do not rent you a folder.
If this is the work you need, write. You get a written scope, a price in USD, and a site or product you own. Nothing is billed before you approve it.

Web app
When a spreadsheet should become a custom web app
No-code vendors rank for “turn Excel into an app.” Operators need a scoped tool they own — roles, a confirm step, and a kill switch — not another sheet with a skin.
Statement of work
What belongs in a statement of work — and what is a pitch
Deliverables, price, dates, hours back, cost stopped, and what is out. If those lines are missing, you do not have a scope.
Origin
Origin, Relay, Sovereign — what you are actually buying
Three products, not a website menu. Origin from $2,500, Relay at $1,500 a month, Sovereign as a written custom build. How to pick without a bake-off.
